I would like to offer another FREE place worth £80 to you or an actor you know on April 8th and 9th 2017 on the hugely popular Action Weekend at ICAT’s studios in central Manchester.
The information is below, but the nutshell version is that it is a great fun, high energy and deeply practical intro to the Mike Alfreds toolkit from Different Every Night. The participant must be over 18 and a student or graduate actor. The place will go to the first person who emails the word ACTION to email@example.com (previous winners of the action weekend competition are prohibited from taking this free place but can give the place to an actor friend, sorry!).
Good luck studio!
A first class toolkit taught over a weekend.
April 8th and 9th: 10am-6pm both days
The ICAT Action Weekend is a unique opportunity to explore the principles of internationally renowned director, Mike Alfreds. Mike founded both Shared Experience and Method and Madness theatre companies and was described by Ian McKellen as one of Britains top three directors. ICAT Principal, Simon Trinder, has worked extensively with Mike and these principles form the basis of ICAT’s training.
The weekend, led by Simon, is a very high energy, completely practical introduction to these principles and participants will walk away with a complete toolkit providing a freedom enhancing approach to performance in any medium. We will look at Actions, Objectives, Points Of Concentration and more using text provided on the day.
Simon is an award winning Royal Shakespeare Company actor, currently playing Trinculo in the RSC’s groundbreaking production of The Tempest with Simon Russell Beale. He has worked in mainstream theatre, television, radio and film for 16 years including 13 productions at the RSC and seasons at the Globe and Royal Court. He recently played series regulars in Ordinary Lies Season 2, Wolfblood and Midwinter Of The Spirit.
Past participants said:
“Simon set up a space where failure was welcome, in fact it was encouraged. His passion for the work is infectious and the emphasis on ensemble meant that competitive edge which is so often prevalent in workshops was eradicated. I’ve been looking for ways to get out of my head for over five years. The self-loathing slowly started to disappear and that familiar buzz of being present and alive crept back in. ” Actor: Jennifer Carss
“I’ve just done a weekend Action course with Simon and I have had the most amazing experience. I’ve learned so much and I can’t wait to do another one, I’m so grateful!” Actor: Parisa Nikkhah-Eshghi
“The best training I’ve had, I left every session feeling inspired and energized. Simon gives actors the freedom which is vital to unlock their inspiration.” Actor: Marlon Solomon
